Joy and Angst at the Paducah ResinCon (Resin Doll Convention)
Windy had been planning to adopt a baby and Luke knew that and was all for it.
But I don’t think he expected the new arrival to ocurr at the first night of ResinCon!

In fact, Luke’s main idea about what do do at ResinCon had to do with peoplewatching:

…and keeping an eye on Eppie’s stuff…

…while Windy busied herself with the New Arrival…

BlackRose lent Luke a Tiny to practise babyholding with:

he was having some difficulty with the whole idea. It was all a bit sudden; fatherhood and stuff.
Sometimes even a grown doll needs a little comfort from Mom, in this case, from Eppie:

Still, it was a sleepless night. In the morning, Luke went down by himself to the banks of the mighty Ohio River, which ran right by the hotel, for some contemplation. It was foggy, which seemed to suit his mood perfectly:

As the fog lifted a little, Luke got a better view of the river.

He saw the jumbled rocks, the tangled and colorful plants covering the embankment, the wharf structures jutting daringly out into the water and – in the distance – a huge barge, steady and dependable…

…moving slowly down the river…

… watching the barge reminded Luke that it was time for him to get back to the hotel room, to see how Windy and the little one were doing.

It was time for their first breakfast as a family…

…followed by a grueling drive home…

Once home, Windy couldn’t wait to tell the news to family and friends using her new datapad:

“Do you think Biwan would be a good name?” mused Luke, “or Eowan?”
